From 28 June -02 July, EUROCHAMBRES organised the AL-INVEST IV Study visit and Summer Academy 2010 in Brussels, Paris & Antwerp: 11 participants from Latin America had the opportunity to visit Chambers in Paris and Antwerp and to listen to representatives from European Chambers (Cantabria, Stuttgart, Torino & Brussels CCI). At the end of the week participants followed, among others, courses on Strategic Planning, Internationalisation services, Leadership skills, etc. presented by course leaders from Dublin, Birmingham and Bilbao.

Participants were extremely satisfied with the programme of the week and highly appreciated the various networking opportunities.

The 10th edition of the Summer Academy will take place from 12-16 June 2007, on Bendor Island, between Marseille & Toulon in the South of France. The Academy is a practice-based course designed specifically for Chambers executives and directors. Structured around one core course on the different European Chamber systems and optional courses which reflect specific interests and needs within the Chamber network, the programme addresses the challenges and problems that Chambers executives face at the various stages of their Chamber growth.

The Third Academy in Latin America will gather 70 Latin American and European executives from national, regional and local chambers of commerce and industry associations. The event will take place in Medellín (Colombia) from 20 to 25 of March 2007. During the past years, the LA Academy has positioned itself as a key training and networking event for Latin American business organisations interested in intra-regional and EU cooperation. The first e-Business Academy Forum will take place from 10-14 December 2006, near Dublin, Ireland.
This Forum is targeted above all at middle and senior executives of local, regional or national European Chambers of Commerce and Industry with e-Business related responsibilities.
The programme is structured around ”optional” courses, which rely on participants’ contributions, discussion and debate. There is a wide range of courses on offer, from which you can choose 6 subjects of most interest for you.

The first Academy in the Caribbean region will take place on 17-20 July 2006 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The Academy will intend to train senior executives of CCIs and business representative organisations from the Caribbean in relevant issues, thus strengthening the role of their organisations in their activities, and will offer a unique opportunity to network among peers.

The annual Summer Academy took place from 20-25 June 2006, in El Escorial, near Madrid, Spain. Novelties in our training programme for Chamber managers combined: a full Chamber strategic workshop including full review of Chamber systems and challenges, SWOT analysis and a course to design your Chamber strategic roadmap; new food for thought with external speakers briefing Chamber management on the trends affecting business members; models designed exclusively for Academy participants to measure return on investment or efficiency in trade services… Plus a whole set of personal development tutorials – from becoming more entrepreneurial to reviewing your career and personal management style.

The first Academy in the SAARC region will take place from 21-26 May 2006 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The Academy will seek to promote the creation of sustainable links between the EU and SAARC local and regional Chambers and the business organisation network. Target group : senior executives of the local and regional CCIs and related business organisations in South Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. 5 places will be available for European executives!

From 24-27 January 2006, EUROCHAMBRES organised its 4th specialized 3-day session focused on International Trade. This Forum took place in Menthon Saint Bernard, 50 km from Geneva. The Academy International Trade Forum 2006 gathered 28 Chamber Trade experts coming from different countries (including 4 Latin Americans and 3 Turks) and provide a platform to share experiences, discuss the latest trends & challenges in international trade and identify best Chamber practice.

The 2nd Academy in Latin America gathered 60 Executives and Representatives from national, regional & local chambers of commerce and industrial associations in Sao Paolo (Brazil) from 8-13 November. 12 LA countries and 2 Europeans attended the programme which was in Spanish with some courses in English. This L.A. Academy is a EUROCHAMBRES initiative organised under the AL-Invest III programme with the financial support of the Consortium AL-Invest III and the European Commission.

EUROCHAMBRES 8th Summer Academy took place in Hungary, one-hour away from Budapest international airport - in a dedicated training resort on Lake Balaton. Building on a tradition of success and excellent results for its 900 participants to date, EUROCHAMBRES Academy 2005 brought innovation to a highly regarded one-week programme for more value and intense personal development. 50 Chambers managers from Europe, Egypt and the Balkans took part in this tailor-made Academy programme.

From 20-23 April 2005, EUROCHAMBRES organised the 3rd specialized 3-day session focused on International Trade. This Forum took place in Menthon Saint Bernard, 50 km from Geneva and started with a welcome reception at Geneva Chamber of Commerce. The Academy International Trade Forum 2005 gathered 28 Chamber Trade experts coming from 15 different countries and provided a platform to share experiences, discuss the latest trends & challenges in international trade and identify best Chamber practice.

EUROCHAMBRES 1st Training Academy Forum took place in El Escorial near Madrid from 23–26 February 2005. 27 training experts coming from 13 countries joined the 3-day management training programme and shared experiences & best practices, discussed the latest trends affecting Chambers in the field of training. Specific issues such as training for entrepreneurship, measuring & identifying skills demand have raised great interest in the audience.

The 7th EUROCHAMBRES Academy programme took place in Os, 30 km from Bergen, on the border of the Norwegian fjords from 27 June - 2 July 2004. 20 different countries were represented from (most north to most south and from most west to most east). Excellent contacts with local Chambers of Bergen and Stavanger added to the high level of networking provided by the programme. This year for the first time, participants also had the unique opportunity to select a module reflecting their specific interests and needs in addition to core and optional courses, and to participate in debates on the key challenges facing Chambers.

From the 23-28 June 2004, 53 representatives from Egyptian Business Organisations have gathered in Ain Soukhna (Egypt) for a 4 days Academy training programme. The hotel situated in Ain Soukhna, 130km from Cairo and on the edge of the Red Sea. This Academy is the first one organized in Egypt by EUROCHAMBRES and IMC.

From 6-11 June 2004, 62 representatives from 10 Eastern and Central European countries, as well as the 4 Balkan Countries have gathered in Plzen (Czech Republic) for a 5 day Academy training programme. The hotel Darovansky dvur is located in the beautiful and peaceful countryside of the natural preserve Horní Berounka near the city of Plzen. It is just 80 km from Prague International airport. This CE Academy is the third one organised under EUROCHAMBRES' CAPE programme, with the financial support of the European Union - PHARE BSP programme.

Form 24-30 April, EUROCHAMBRES organised its First Academy for South-East Asian Chambers and Federations. The event was attended by 50 executives from the ASEAN region as well as some European Chambers, and involved an intensive week of training, benchmarking and networking. This Academy was co-organised with FMM - the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers, with the financial support of the EU - Asia Invest programme.

From 28 to 31 January 2004, 33 Chamber Executives and Representatives from 19 different countries have gathered in Menthon Saint Bernard for the second 3-day Academy Forum training programme focused on International Trade and Globalisation. The programme included a briefing at the World Trade Organisation and took place at Alcatel Seminar Centre, located on the border of Lake Annecy and surrounded by the majestic French Alps.

The first EUROCHAMBRES Latin American Academy took place in Viña del Mar, Chile from 26-31 October 2003. In total 55 Executives and Representatives from national, regional and local chambers and from Eurocentros of 15 LA countries participated to this successful event. The LA Academy 2003 has been organised under EUROCHAMBRES ATLAS programme with the financial support of the European union and in cooperation with Santiago Chamber of Commerce.

From 28 September to 02 October, 53 Chamber Executives and Representatives from 11 different countries have gathered in Bled for a 5-day Academy training programme. Bled is situated in a green environment near Bled Alpine lake surrounded by high peaks. It is just 30 km from Ljubljana international airport. This CE Academy is the second one organised under Eurochambres' CAPE programme, with the financial support of the European Union - PHARE BSP programme.

The 6th EUROCHAMBRES Academy programme took place in Sigtuna, 40 km from Stockholm, on the border of lake Mälaren from 29 June - 4 July 2003. This year for the first time, the Academy welcomed Chamber representatives from Latin America.

From 22 to 25 January 2003, 36 Chamber Executives and Representatives from 20 different countries have gathered in Annecy for the first 3-day Academy Forum training programme focused on International Trade and Globalisation. The programme included a briefing at the World Trade Organisation and took place at Seminar-Hotel Les Tresoms, located on the border of Lake Annecy and surrounded by the majestic French Alps.

From 24 to 28 June 2002, 64 Chamber Executives and Representatives from 23 different countries have gathered in Westerham for the intensive 5-day Academy training programme. Westerham is situated 50 km south of Munich; the training centre there is owned and managed by the Munich CCI.
The training sessions have been evaluated very positively and again the participants took full advantage of the possibility to network and liase with their colleagues from all over Europe and beyond.

From 15-18 June 2002 the first Central European Academy took place at the Hotel Silvanus, Visegrad, just half an hour north of Budapest. The hotel is located in a green environment of forests and hills, with a splendid panoramic view over the Danube and the historic castle of King Matthias. 52 Chamber Executives from 11 different East European countries have participated in the intensive 3-day training seminar.
This CE Academy has been organised under Eurochambres' CAPE I programme, with the financial support of the European Union - PHARE BSP programme.

From 9-13 July 2001 some 53 Chamber Executives from 23 different countries have gathered at Schloss Hernstein for the 4th Academy. Schloss Hernstein is a magnificent castle combining neo-renaissance and neo-baroque influence to produce a result of splendour and largesse and offered an ideal environment for discussions and concentrated learning. The Centre/Castle is owned and managed by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce.

The Felipe II Training Centre is owned and managed by Euroforum Escorial, a valued partner of Madrid Chamber of Commerce and the High Council of Spanish Chambers. The centre is located a few minutes from the town centre and the monastery of El Escorial, approximately 45 km from Madrid. From 26-30 June 2000 some 63 Chamber Executives from 24 different countries have participated in the 3rd Academy.

El primer Academy Centroamérica convocará alrededor de 25 gerentes de Cámaras de Exportadores de Centroamérica. El mismo tendrá lugar desde el 27.9. al 1.10. en Costa Rica y ofrecerá 6 cursos adaptados a las necesidades de las cámaras así como también amplias oportunidades de intercambio de experiencias y networking.

On 20-25 June 1999 the second Academy was held at the Cariplo Training Centre if Angera, 20 km south of Varese, Italy. In total 69 Chamber Executives from 23 different countries have participated.

On 31 August-4 September 1998 the ever first Academy was held at the Westerham Training Centre, 50 km south of Munich. In total 63 Chamber Executives from 23 different countries have participated in the first Eurochambres Academy.
